Home Styles In The Westside of Colorado Springs

Homes here were mostly built between the 1970’s-2000’s. The styles of homes here range from neo-eclectic, mountain contemporary, pockets of tuscan/ adobe inspired, and modern. Home types here are mostly 2 story or ranch styles with walkouts, but you can find pockets with bi-level, tri-level and 4-level.

01.

Neo-eclectic

Neo-Eclectic home styles are architectural designs that emerged in the late 20th century and draw inspiration from a variety of historical architectural styles. A blend of traditional and contemporary features, creating a unique and eclectic appearance. Neo-Eclectic homes can be characterized by their diverse exterior details, varied rooflines, and the use of different materials and textures.

02.

Mountain Contemporary

A mountain contemporary home is a modern-style dwelling that incorporates elements of nature and the surrounding mountain environment. It typically features large windows to take advantage of the scenic views and natural light. The design often combines sleek and clean lines with rustic materials such as wood and stone to create a harmonious blend of contemporary aesthetics and mountain charm.

03.

Tuscan inspired

A Tuscan-inspired home is characterized by its warm and rustic aesthetic, reminiscent of the traditional architecture found in Tuscany, Italy. These homes often feature earthy and natural materials like stone, terracotta, and wood, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. With its arched windows and doorways, textured walls, and decorative accents, a Tuscan-inspired home brings a touch of Old World charm and elegance!

02.

Adobe

An adobe-inspired home style draws inspiration from traditional Southwestern architecture, particularly the adobe buildings found in the region. These homes often feature thick walls made of natural materials like mud bricks or adobe blocks, providing excellent insulation. With their earthy color palette, rustic textures, and flat roofs, adobe homes exude a warm and inviting vibe that embracing natural surroundings.

03.

Modern

A modern home exterior is characterized by clean lines, minimal ornamentation, and a focus on functionality and simplicity. It typically features a sleek and streamlined appearance, with an emphasis on geometric shapes and asymmetry. The use of advanced materials, such as glass, steel, and concrete, is common in modern home exteriors. The color palette tends to be neutral, with the occasional use of bold accents.

02.

Split-level

Split-level homes are a unique style of architecture that gained popularity in the mid-20th century. They feature multiple levels that are staggered, creating distinct living spaces with a few steps separating each level. Split-level homes offer a functional layout, providing separation between public and private spaces.

School District 20
School District 11

The Westside of Colorado Springs falls partly into School District 20 and partly into School District 11. Both districts offer great educational options for students in Colorado Springs. Checkout the links below to see what elementary, middle and high schools each district offers.

Area Attractions And Amenities!

Most attractions and amenities on the Westside are very outdoor centric. If the perfect day to you sounds like a long hike or bike ride and ending the day with a beer from a local brewery, you will fit right in. The best hiking spots are Ute Valley, Blodgette Peak, Garden of the Gods, and the Santa Fe trail. You do have less dining options on the northwest side, but the options you do have are stellar! Most options will be found on Garden of the Gods Rd. With Marigolds Café, Mollica’s Italian Market, Trinity brewing and Red Leg Brewery being my favorites. There are also a few good fast food options too like Raising Canes, chick-fil-a and Taco Bell. A unique activity exclusive to this area –and that is a must try for new Colorado residents –is a visit to the flying W Ranch to catch a western themed show and a meal. It is a fun and unique date night or great family friendly activity.
